Abstract

The present article presents an overview of the new technology of digital aerial photography and its application in the establishment, management and monitoring of protected areas. Some technical aspects regarding the developement of a project using airborne photography and some applications being used in Latin America are discussed with graphic examples.
Conclusions and recommendations coming out of this experiences are given.
