The global warming has left to be a theoretical approach to be become a reality. This reality cannot pass unnoticed to the indifferent watch of the world population, because it affects directly to each alive creature of this planet
The temperature increasing of the water, as a result of the global warming, has expansive effects, situation that added to the continue melting of the glacial and polar caps, increase the level of the sea, that threatens directly to islands, small islands, keys, and low coastal zones, integrally with the developed activities in that areas.
Inside of the Colombian government, national worry exists, by the effects of the climatic change in the continental, coastal, and insular territory, especially by the uncertainty of the magnitudes of their impacts to local and regional scales, that permit sincenow, to determine courses of action articulated to all the levels of the government, that identify measures of “Adaptation” to protect the life of the population and their activities.
This presentation, shows the role that performs the LIDAR technology, as a accurately data supplier, for the flood settings recreation by ascent of the sea level in the coastal zones, and the potential uses of the different products in the management of the risk and planning of the territory. All products have been socialized in diverse regional workshops of sensitizing of the Climatic Change around our country.
