The geographic metadata is a valuable resource when it comes to access, disseminate and distribute data access spatial or geographical information. It has become the foundation for Spatial Data Infrastructures (the SDI) views these as Granell. C. and Gould. M. (2006) as systems based on open standardized services accessible through the network to provide free and comprehensive infrastructure which tend to the maximum diffusion usable by all users. Therefore the importance of reliable information that refers to the spatial data. It is fundamental to the potential success of an SDI, a data mapping product or a spatial or geographic information lose meaning when it is not used when it is distorted from its origin. By that in seeking to prevent errors occur in this type that would throw overboard all the work of production, publication and dissemination of information. A method has been of great help in performing the quality control of geographic metadata generated in the various projects he has led the Colombian Spatial Data Infrastructure (hereinafter CSDI).
