Due to the demand of information Systems that can manage from different perspectives the cartographic information acquired by a company in an integral way, we decided to show a success case in an utility company where we implemented some INTEGRAPH tools, for visualization, Geographic Analysis and OMS (Outage Management system), obtaining with this a modular solution which greatly improved the areas involved and which can be implemented in any other enterprise scenery. The modules to show are:
- Operation Integral System on the field: Receives the information from the customer, dispatch it by mean of the OMS and notify automatically the operation to the PDA.
- Unified System of maintenance and visits to the field: This receives the information from the different areas which have operations in the field, after receiving a validation call from the customer a spatial consult is made and with this it is possible to inform in an effective way to the customer or to the team of the investigation department. Besides, this module keeps track to the personnel that have been in the different contractor companies.
- Administrative GIS System: As there are different information sources such as Customer care Database, Billing system, Database of records of robberiestothenetworkinfrastructure, among others, it is possible to show the spatial distribution of several variables which makes it possible a better decision making to improve every area.
For each module we estimate to show the framework, the GIS solution implemented and the effects of this in the reduction of times and costs for the company, giving so a vision of the great potential that have the investment in cartographic information for a company which has a strong operation.
