Sistema de Información Geográfica del Proyecto Mesa de Tierras, para la Gestión en Restitución de Tierras Despojadas

Abstract

Geographic Information System for the Management of the Restitution of Stripped Lands SIG–GRTD is an information system conceived as a technological tool that serves as support to national efforts to ensure the rights of individuals, households and communities for the restitution of lands and territories as the preferred form of reparation to the victims of violence.

This work was entrusted to the Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi in compliance with the orders contained in the document 008 of the statement T-025 issued by the Constitutional Court and coordinated by the Bureau of Lands. It seeks to collect, organize and interoperate several databases related not only with the assets protection, displacement and dispossession, but also with the relevant information for the management of lands and property.

In the near future, once perfected, this information system will be useful for the purposes of returning lands, making decisions of public policy associated with the economic restore of the victims, the formalization of the rural land ownership and the management of the territories. In addition, in the future the system must be carried on the parcel level where queries and the characterization of the behavior of the displacement and the restitution of lands should be at a more detailed level in order to be completely an integral system.
