Landsat images have been a great source of information for almost 40 years. The latest generation, Landsat 7, in 2003 suffered a serious breakdown in its sensor and then takes imagery with a loss of information or gaps. This defect can be corrected for different ways, one of them is through the generation of mosaics composed of different images with gaps of the same area and through specialized filters which reduce or eliminate the noise present therein.
